Netting Measure Tips 2

Netting Measure Tips 2

Use these tips when measuring up for netting rows.

Single Row

(A net over each row)

  1. Measure trellises, if trellises are over 1.5m you will need 6.5m width net, if trellises are under 1.5m you will need 5m width
  2. Measure row lengths, remembering to add approx 10m to each row length to account for turning/draping at the start and end of each row. Calculate how many 300 metre bags are required.

Multi Row

(Where nets drape to the ground at the selvedge of each net)

  1. Measure the height of the trellis, and multiply that by 2. Add 1m on to this to account for the excess material at the bottom.
  2. Multiply the row space (post to post) by the number of rows to work out the total width.
  3. Add A to B to get the total width required. Remember to allow extra material (approx 5m) for draping at the edge of each width of material
  4. 1. STD - Measure the length of each row – remember to add approx 10m to each row length to account for turning/draping at the start and end of each row. Calculate how many 300 metre bags are required
  5. 2. MTO - Measure the length of each row – remember to add approx 10m to each row length to account for turning/draping at the start and end of each row. Round up to the nearest 10m.
